About>>
Lone Shark is an upcoming Devon-based music project aiming to promote and support exciting new music, particularly the unsigned scene, through on- and off-line methods, which compliment one another.

Lone Shark-promoted events aim to offer something different to standard gigs and build a reputation for promoting excellent all-round ‘shows’ rather than just the typical method of arranging a concert with a headline act and same genre support for every gig.

As well as acting as multi-genre ‘showcases’ for a variety of musical styles (from rock and punk to hiphop and soul), previous Lone Shark events have incorporated a ‘zine stall, raffle, oil projections and free badges amongst other things To see photos and reports from previous Lone Shark nights, please get to the GALLERY section!!!

The lack of focus on a particular genre of music will help Lone Shark to remain exciting, as we can feature music that ‘stirs our spaghetti’ in the present time, rather than become tied to a genre that could hit a creative trough. Also, through featuring varied styles of music, it is hoped audience members will build up an appreciation for artists or genres that they may not previously have considered.

Although generally promoting unsigned artists, we will occasionally be working with higher profile up-coming artists, helping to raise the profile of Lone Shark nights and the artists involved.

It is hoped that as the shows (somewhere between a gig, club night and miniature festival) build the reputation and fan-base of Lone Shark, we will get to the stage where it is viable to release artists’ material under the Lone Shark name. This may be in the form of one-off singles/ EPs or a showcase compilation featuring a variety of artists. Artists would not need to commit themselves to future releases, and each release would help to raise the profile of both Lone Shark and the artists themselves.

Online, the Lone Shark website not only provides news and details of forthcoming Lone Shark shows and related artists, but also contains a new ‘Band Resource’ (Contained within 'RESOURCES')section.
This constantly growing section houses useful information for upcoming artists, or anyone with an interest in the music industry, with particular
focus on the South-West scene.

We hope that the website will become a much used resource point for people involved in music throughout the South-West.

Our on- and off-line activities will compliment each other and along with promotions and co-operation with others involved in local music we hope to assist in enhancing the overall South-West scene and musical community.
