>> KILL KENADA!
Alreety folks - we can now confirm details of Lone Shark's live comeback in September, with a stonker of a show headlined by the ever-awesome Kill Kenada

The show will take place on Wednesday September 21st at the Cavern and will include a magnificent supporting cast of:
-Kris Delmhorst
-Resonate
and -Klay
We'll have all the usual giveaways and tomfoolery too - check the LIVE page for in depth details.
Also, seeing as Myspace is all the rage these days, you may as well add myspace.com/killkenada, myspace.com/reso and myspace.com/klay to your friends list!

Since their last appearance, Kill Kenada have had a low-ish profile but are now back with 'The Pink Album' (old tracks, produced by Gordon Raphael, ULTRA-limited) and shortly with an album of new material recorded with the legendary Steve Albini! If you haven't seen them before, KK are an incredibly dynamic, energetic, melodic and downright brutal live act - ATD-I V Pavement by way of Sonic Youth.

For the eagle-eyed amongst you, unfortunately the Pure Reason Revolution date was postponed, then impossible to rearrange, which is annoying - but hopefully they'll be back sometime!

Looking forward to seeing you down the front - questions/ secrets/ threats to the usual address

>> The Good, The Sad and The Lovely. In news form.
LOVELY : What a treat the Pipettes gig last month was! A super-good line-up and general lively atmosphere ensured everyone in attendance had a night of funfunfun! The Pipettes themselves were superb and mightily refreshing to hear some good old-fashioned pop music in The Cavern - and biggedybiggedybig-ups to Alex from Electric Soft Parade who made an appearance on tambourine duties!

SAD : After a splendid summer, Mad Library will be playing their last gig for a little while before hiding in an underground shelter only to make the occasional one-off performance over the coming months.

GOOD : That gig will be at the next Lone Shark show on September 13th alongside other fantastic bands like Resonate, Nixon & The Burn and Ampersand! Plus the usual FREE BADGES/ guest DJs etc and just £3 (THREE ENGLISH POUNDS) to get in! More info on the live page, f00's

Well, the Kill Kenada show last week was yet another raging success! The whole night was excellent -
Grandma Death played an ace set including an epic new song with a superb massive guitar-less build up
An Emergency belted out what can only be described as psychotic blues-core - in a great way
Resonate were incredible, they get better all the time and this was the most captivating, jawdropping performance Ive seen yet!
And the headliners, Kill Kenada were brilliant as always, a winning combination of melodies, power, stop-starts, cheekiness and sheer energy!

As you know our Easter show will mark Lone Shark's 1st birthday and we've got an extra special line-up to celebrate!

Those of you at his full band show in September will know how ferociously powerful he can be, but the acoustic gig will show of the beautifully fragile side of his music and his stunning vocal range. Having seen him about 6 times (electric & acoustic) I can honestly say I've been blown away by every performance.

Mad Library (our band) somehow managed to get through to the final of Singles Club at Exeter Cavern, held on Tuesday (Dec 30th). Anderson won the competition in the end, but we thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing so thanks to the organisers and to everyone that watched/ voted/ complimented or bought CDs from us, we were very chuffed with the general reaction!

Really looking forward to Monday - it's gonna be a most splendid evening and good chance to catch up with some of ya!
Take it easy folks!

>> Farewell Fair Weather
As Summer draws to a close, us Lone Shark guys will soon be back off to our respective universities for more essay writing, exams, dissertations and other such fun!

It's been a fantastic few months for us though, having put on 3 more great shows, introducing this lovely new website - complete with 'Band Resource' and 'Gallery' sections, giving away hundreds of badges, meeting some cool people and seeing/ hearing a lot of great new music!
And don't worry, the website will still be updated regularly and the Resource section will continue to grow!

Monday's all ages show was really cool, we had a lot of fun! Our (Mad Library's) set with Tom & Charlie Crayfish was great to play, 20 minutes of semi-improvised noise, rhythms and melody - cheers if you watched or said nice things - sorry if it wasn't your bag, baby!
Robolint, Resonate and Mortillo all played top sets, while Steph, Anna and Rosie did a sterling performance with the zine/ merch stall and giving out the last of Lone Shark's Summer range of badges - just you wait for the Winter Collection!
Keep an eye out for more updates and photos from the last 2 shows, and dont forget to keep in touch via our forum or mail info@lonesharkmusic.co.uk!

Thanks again to everyone who's supported us, come to our shows or generally shown any interest in what we're doing, it really is very much appreciated!

>> Lone Shark Latest!
Heyhey people - so what do you think of the lovely new website??

The Martin Grech show on Monday was a massive success, The Cavern was rammed (almost sold out), there was a great atmosphere and the support acts played fantastically!
You will find more details of what happened on the 'Live' page, and we'll have photos up fairly soon too!

All systems go for this Monday (September 8)'s 'Keep In A Cool Place' all ages show, which has a great line-up of some of the areas most exciting live acts.
Details can be found on the 'Live' page, and we can now confirm that Mad Library's 'Friends' will be none other than Tom and Charlie from Shooting Crayfish!
'Keep In A Cool Place' will be the last Lone Shark show for a while as we will be back off to our respective uni's, so come along or you'll have to wait until Christmas for more Lone Shark goodness!
If that's not enough to tempt you, how about the offer of more FREE BADGES - this time they're red and made by the excellent Badge Boy!

That's about it on the news front, but all the pages on the site are updated regularly, so keep an eye out!
Cheers for now - hope to see some of you on Monday!

>> You Want News? Check THIS Out!
Heyhey - this is another quick update just to let you know what's going on at the moment!
Well, Commercial Break was a massive success; the acts all played great sets, the zine stall and raffle was very cool (thankyou Punkemon!), there was a really good crowd and fantastic atmosphere and we even got hold of an oil projector with lovely patterns - so all in all a top night all round!
There will be more details on Commercial Break to follow, and the whole website is to be redesigned and relaunched very soon - watch this space!

*NEWSFLASH - well, perhaps the most exciting bit of news is that we have confirmed MARTIN GRECH for a Lone Shark show on September 1st! Martin Grech is fantastic, somewhere between Radiohead, RATM, Jeff Buckley and with a pinch of Deftones, he has an unbelievably good voive and is one of the best live acts we have seen (honest guv, we saw him in Cardiff in January and it was stunning!).
So, yeeeah - that's pretty exciting - we'll let you know more details as we sort them, but for now, look out for his new single 'I Am Chromosome' (Island Records) or last year's 'Open Heart Zoo' album. The title track on the album you may know from the Lexus advert, and also look out for Lone Shark's favourites; 'Dali', 'Here It Comes' and 'Penecillin'.
Also check out http://www.martingrech.co.uk/
As always, any feedback, queries or suggestions are much appreciated, mail; info@lonesharkmusic.co.uk
Cheers!

>> Lone Shark Latest
Just a quick update - sorry the site was down for a day or two, and that some of the menu images arent appearing, just had a couple of what they call 'technical difficulties'. Not to worry though, the new site IS on it's way, just in the process of typing up information etc!

More importantly though; Dorp can longer play at 'Commercial Break' on July 21st, but fortunately we have found an excellent replacement in Mangina - Exeter hiphop duo with entertaining stage antics!

In other 'Commercial Break news, we should be hosting a zine/merch stall at the show, so if you have a zine you would like stocked, let us know!
Take it easy, folks!

>> Oh Lordy, I Got The Summertime News
Despite a lack of updates in the last few weeks, there's been much a-going on in the Lone Shark camp.
For starters, Monday July 21st sees Lone Shark's second show, 'Commercial Break' take place at Exeter Cavern. The line-up isn't totally complete yet, but is already looking very good! Check out the shows page for more info!

The website overhaul (see below) is a gradual process, plus computer problems have delayed it slightly but it's coming along nicely and should finally be ready in a few weeks - but it'll be worth the wait!!

As we're around over Summer (as opposed to at uni) there is likely to be more regular updates and we'll be around and about at various gigs and stuff - so yeah, it's all go at the moment!

You know the score - enquiries, death threats and letters of undying love: e-mail us or leave a message in the forum!
Cheers for now!

>> Oh, What A Night! - Click here to see some photos of the evening
Well, our first show, Close To The Edge went really well last night, even if a little shambolic at times! There seemed to be a really postive atmosphere in The Cavern, and we had a great time DJing, was great to hear a variety of stuff through the Cavern speakers! Plus, every band put on a really great set. Honest!

Pneumatic & Sloth did a great job of winning over a predominantly rock audience with their exciting set, which included a spur of the moment acapella section with live drums played (very well) by Sloth!. Hype men Azlack and MA2 also deserve a mention!

I Fell Over rocked the house down and showed off their excellent new drummer and some promising new material. Top live act, and a couple of people thought it was the best time they'd seen them!

Mr Belding were also fantastic, lots of energy, great stage presence and a quality rendition of the Thundercats theme - shame there wasnt more people around at that point (though they had a mosh pit for approximately 30 seconds)!

And as for that Mad Library... Well we enjoyed ourselves, couple of technical hitches but we were happy with the set and extremely chuffed by the audience reaction/ support - not really expected but very much appreciated so thankyou!

All in all, fun seemed to be had by everyone! We'd like to thank everyone who came along or has been supportive of Lone Shark, hopefully Close To The Edge will be the first of many! We probably wont be able to put on more shows until the Summer (we're at uni's in different places y'see) but keep an eye out for details! If youve got any comments, questions or anything then please e-mail us or leave a message in the forum!

>> Close To The Edge - and the Lone Shark latest..
- Unfortunately, Alex from Summit is unable to make the show for his appearance with Mad Library, which is a real shame - but the band will now be joined by a keyboard player (Dan from Still), which is sounding ace!

-We will be giving out some wonderful Lone Shark badges on the night - hopefully there'll be enough for everybody, but make sure you get down there early to guarantee one! They look like this (but one inch):

-Other than that we're really excited about the show - the bands are ace, we'll be playing some great songs and it'll be cool to meet some of you!
Cheers for now,
